The Pacific Northwest
If you’re planning a road trip and are looking for mountains, you have to put the Cascade Range on the West Coast to your menu. In terms of eye candy and the most amazing hikes (and even ski in July! on Mt Hood), this has to be one of my best road trips so far. But beyond this volcanic chain, the PNW also includes some part of my native country: British Columbia, Canada that I first visited about 20 years ago (when photography meant only a small point and shoot in my backpack). You will also find it here and there in this growing collection.
The Pacific Northwest (PNW), sometimes referred to as Cascadia,[1] is a geographic region in western North America bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and (loosely) by the Rocky Mountains on the east. Though no official boundary exists, the most common conception includes the Canadian province of British Columbia (BC) and the U.S. states of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. —Wikipedia
